See such rock formations as the stone face, the waterspout, along with many beautiful beaches. You have access to many of these bays by boat only. You can enjoy the bays at your leisure by hiring a small boat and guide or enjoy the party atmosphere of the catamarans where you can see the coral reefs and have music, games and seafood. |

Santa Maria Huatulco is only a thirty-minute ride away from Bahias de Huatulco. It is a typical colonial style village with cobble stone streets and a main plaza surrounded by the church La Conception, the municipal building, the cemetery, and the market. |

Take an all day tour of one of the coffee plantations in the mountains of the Sierra Madre del Sur. This is something special due to direct contact with nature. You will discover the many different ecosystems from the seaside to the high mountain areas of the plantations. For the traveler who has more time, a trip to the colonial city of Oaxaca is a must. The city with a population of 214,000 is a rare beauty nicknamed "City of Jade". It is a relatively affluent and cosmopolitan city with museums, churches, outstanding archaeological sites, and villages where you can go to buy crafts direct from the artisan. You can travel to Oaxaca by either air or ground travel. If you go by ground spend the night at the beautiful village of San Jose del Pacifico found in the high chilly humid mountains. The beauty of the Pacific Ocean has turned this area into a site of excellent snorkeling and diving. Since there are nine bays to choose from, the brilliant colors of the coral shaped designs are obvious subjects to be photographed. Diving at Maguey Bay or at the astonishing volcanic rock bottom of Montosa Island in front of Tangolunda Bay represents some of the different types of surroundings. For Adventuresome souls there is river rafting and kayaking on the beautiful rivers. You adventure through the lush beauty of the mountain landscape on the two main rivers of this region. You may choose from a variety of descents from class I to IV on rafts, kayaks. This combines excitement, water, and overwhelming panoramic views If you are on a kayak ride the waves at La Bocana (the mouth) as the river dumps into the ocean. Then head out to sea to explore the open ocean or the coastline. If you are lucky you may kayak along side dolphins or whales as they make there migratory journey. |

ON WHEELS Excitement and fun on wheels offers tours through the jungle on 4-wheel motorcycles. Visit virgin beaches where you can swim and play on the sand dunes.(picture 1) Are you ready for a bicycle ride through the jungle? This is an unforgettable way to see the flora and fauna of the area. You can also take a tour of the town of La Crucecita and Santa Cruz Bay where you will see points of interest such as the church, art, craft markets and an up close look of the people and their culture.(picture 2) Excitement and fun on wheels offers tours through the jungle on 4-wheel motorcycles. Visit virgin beaches where you can swim and play on the sand dunes. If you were not quite up to bicycling maybe you would like to take a self-guided tour on the small motor scooters. |

Feel free to explore places you can not reach by car. Go across the tropical jungle to Rio Copalita where you can gallop on horse back along the seaside and swim in the Pacific Oceans crystalline waters. |

There are many hiking opportunities. Huatulco's National Park offers you a great variety of flora and fauna to observe. How about getting up early to watch one of the most breathtaking sunrises ever at the Punta Celeste archeological site. You can then hike to the mouth of the Rio Copalita river where it flows into the ocean. There you can watch the many different species of migratory birds and wildlife. You can also hike along The Coyote Beach on the San Agustin Bay, to catch an unbelievable sunset? You can rockclimb over nearby rocks and waterfalls and enjoy the excitement and thrill. There are three locations where you can experience rock repelling. You can see Punta Celest, Piedra de Morros and the Copalitilla waterfalls.

lf you want to relax, visit the majestic 18-hole golf course located in the midst of a natural setting with lakes, and sand traps. This championship class golf course offers you both challenge and beauty. The last hole gives you a panoramic view of Tangolunda Bay which makes this course one of the best in Mexico. |

For night fun try the hotel discotheques or check out the town where you will find a variety of places to suit everyone's taste. You can always find your way back to the beautiful Santa Cruz Bay where there are more nightclubs and discos. If discos aren't your thing, stop at a restaurant and discover some of Huatulco's famous Mexican food. Maybe you would like to experience the local dances of the state of Oaxaca.
